Kates Nussman is pleased to announce that Sabrina Bazelais has become associated with our firm.

Sabrina E. Bazelais is an Associate Attorney of the Firm and a member of the New Jersey bar. Ms. Bazelais’ practice covers a wide range of areas as she works with partners on business, commercial, estate, employment and landlord-tenant matters. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Bazelais was the law clerk to the Honorable Terrence R. Cook, P.J. Cr.

Ms. Bazelais received her law degree from Rutgers Law School in May of 2020. As a law student, Ms. Bazelais was a member of the Minority Student Program and served as a board member in both the Association of Black Law Students and the Entertainment and Sports Law Society. Ms. Bazelais was also a member in the International Law and Human Rights Journal.

Additionally, Ms. Bazelais has a demonstrated history of non-profit work. Ms. Bazelais completed pro-bono work for Rutgers’ Intellectual Property Clinic and Volunteer Lawyers for Justice’s divorce and tenancy clinics. Ms. Bazelais has also volunteered for various high school outreach programs including Street Law and NJ LEEP and worked as a legal intern for Legal Services of New Jersey.

While in law school, Ms. Bazelais worked as a law clerk at Edward Mullins, LLC where she worked predominantly on civil litigation and landlord-tenant matters. Ms. Bazelais also worked as an intern in the employment law division at Prudential and was a 1L scholar in the Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity program.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Bazelais graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University with a double major in Political Science and Geography and a minor in French. Ms. Bazelais is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

Ms. Bazelais is a music enthusiast and accomplished violist who enjoys singing, dancing, writing and composing when not in the office. Ms. Bazelais is a member of the Garden State Bar Association, the Association of Black Women Lawyers and the New York State Bar Association.
